Happy pride month reminder that it was a gay who defeated the nazis and was responsible for the turning point in WW2 leading to the end of a terrible genocide, and also who invented the first computer
please also remember he ended up taking his own life due to psychological implications of borderline torture due to his sexuality
His name is Alan Turing.
also remember he was neurodivergent (most likely autistic) and has many quotes about how just because machines think differently than people, does that mean they are not thinking?
I hear a lot about how Alan Turing was medically abused and tortured due to his sexuality, but nothing about how it was done, so I’ll tell you:
He was given estrogen.
Alan Turing was given HRT because they knew the effects included the inability to get an erection, so that he would no longer have sex.
But as we knew, that’s not the only thing it does. He grew breasts. He lost facial and body hair. His fat redistributed to give him curves.
Straight cis people forced a cis gay man to medically transition, causing him severe dysphoria, which undoubtedly had a part in his suicide.
me remembering all of the personal information I’ve shared with ppl I no longer talk to:

What did you like about being Doctor Who?
